A New Vista for Our Message

"A World Citizen in Rio," the video that covers the Rio Earth Summit through the eyes of world citizen Garry Davis, has been selected by Educational Communications, Inc., to be aired about 1000 times on the television series "Econews." However, in order to be able to air the video, Educational Communications requires donations to cover operating costs of "Econews." The nonprofit company has provided us with the following information regarding contribution options:

The television series "Econews," a three-time Emmy nominee, airs on over 100 stations throughout the United States. Produced by our non-profit, volunteer organization, each show covers a different aspect of the ecological crisis.

We would appreciate your contribution to our tax-exempt, tax-deductible group. Donations ensure continued production and distribution of the environmental message on a weekly basis. In the 11 years that "Econews" has been airing, it has received no series underwriting on the part of a government agency, private foundation or corporation. Any regular support would be very helpful as long as we remain free to provide coverage of controversial topics without restrictions.

Presently, each show must provide its own source of revenue to cover costs. The following contribution options are negotiable. Whatever you can donate is appreciated.

Option A: $5000. A basic "Econews" show would be created using paid facilities and equipment with paid professional crew. PBS satellite uplink would be provided with flyer and mailer.

Option B: $2500. A basic "Econews" show using donated facilities and equipment with paid and volunteer crew. PBS satellite uplink would be provided.

Option C: $1000. A basic "Econews" show with donated facilities and volunteer crew (some professionals, some students, some interns). Add $400 for PBS satellite uplink.

Option D: $100-$500. A basic "Econews" show with donated facilities and volunteer crew.

For more information or to contribute, contact "Econews," P.O. Box 351419, Los Angeles, CA 90035-9119; Phone: (310) 559-9160.
