WSA Still Trying to Aid Stateless Inhabitant of Airport

In its Oct./Nov. 1995 edition, World Citizen News reported on the situation of "Alfred" Nasseri [Mehran], a stateless man who has been living at the Charles de Gaulle Airport outside Paris since 1988. Because he expressed a desire for an "international passport," the World Service Authority supplied him with the application form for a World Passport.

Nasseri completed and returned the forms but failed to provide the necessary photos, which he now says his lawyer will send us. WSA stands ready to assist Nasseri in entering or leaving France as he desires. Here is the text of a Jan. 2, 1996, letter that Nasseri addressed to WSA general counsel David Gallup:

I would be happy if I'd visited you before I contact my lawyer Mr. Bourquet regarding my document. I sent photographs and a full application for his acknowledgment. There might be one question: How? Please, for further information contact my lawyer in Paris, as proceeding in appeal procedure.

I will be glad if hear you very soon.

I await for your corresponding and information.

Your sincerely,
Sir Alfred Mehran
Charles de Gaulle Airport
